Wonderful Copenhagen was a blast!

Review from Rockfreaks.net

finally see what the fuss is about when it comes to a live show by The Janitors. Sounding heavy and ominous as ever when they took the stage, The Janitors relied heavily on the forceful but minimalistic bass grooves and the lingering sense of impending doom from the hypnotizing vocal work. With tracks like “There Will Be Blood” and “Here They Come” (both from their newest EP), The Janitors made it rather clear that echoes, politics and hauntingly drone-based psych is the perfect counterpart to some of the somewhat popularized and easily accessible psych that is currently being released upon the world. One thing I particularly enjoyed throughout their set, was the consistency with which their material was delivered, as if the material was conceptual, almost intertwining. In spite of natural halts in the music and small forays into attempted communication with the crowd, each little (or rather grand) piece of music seemed to connect perfectly with the one that preceded it – in turn becoming an utterly fascinating listening experience.

Got loads of awesome reviews from our gig at Liverpool international festival of Psychedelia.
Here are some of them:
"The Janitors are appropriately more punctual over at the Furnace, and though they may have one of the more underwhelming names of the weekend, their own brand of “stockpsych” is powerfully memorable. Clearly in thrall to the late 80s UK psych sound of Spacemen 3 and Loop, the Swedes seem to have made it their mission to rewrite the former’s Revolution with extra black bits. It’s pummelling and propulsive with edges as sharp as the cheek bones on vocalist Jonas Erilsson. Full marks too for proclaiming an anti-facist message at this most dozily apolitical of proceedings.” Getintothis.co.uk
On first listen Janitors sound like a psyched up version of Interpol. About halfway thrugh their first song though you realise that they are a hell of a lot more than that. By the end of the set you realise you have witnessed something rather special. The sea of faces said it all as jaws dropped at the terrifying yet cozy sounds throbbing from the stage. It was dark, dangerous, sultry…and beautiful. Janitors were brilliant and it is easy to see them headling this very festival in the next few years” Echoesanddust.com
"By the end I was completely entranced by their terrific set on the Furnace stage. One to remember!" backseatmafia.com

The god people of the blogosphere is spreading the gospel of The Janitors. Here are some voices on Here They Come:
"Their last album was one of our top albums last year, so we’re highly anticipating the release of their new one." Hologram Skies
"This, then, is a strong return from one of my favourite bands and I’m really looking forward to hearing the rest of this EP when it comes out, and am absolutely beside myself with excitement about seeing them at this year’s Liverpool PsychFest" Backseat Maffia
Here They Come is the opening track of The Psychedelic Undergrounds new compilation. Download it for free here The PUG#21
"The Janitors innehar inte bara expertis i hur en psychrock-sten ska dras. För att inte säga ledande inom landet lagoms gränser" Popkollektivet
"The Janitors display a hypnotic, monotone and evil drone although the barbed wire fuzz rock often is infused by a melodic groove." Pop Overdose
"Det är mörkt, skitigt, dramatiskt och väldigt snyggt." Rockfoto
"Med en blytung, infernalsk firserlyd, bygger The Janitors nummeret op med anmassende, uhyggelige droner, alt i mens mørket sænker sig og en grotesk og makaber verden af forvredne, rådne tankegange træder lyslevende frem." Modstroem
"Fuzzy as chrome metal shavings, dark and menacing, ‘Here They Come’ is another dose showing just how The Janitors can clean up." Sunrise Ocean Bender
"Cerebral, gut-wrenching, soul-searching music at it’s very finest." Chromatism
"What makes The Janitors so good is that their songs are huge monolithic slabs of power, shewn from granite. Their songs are dark, intense and primal" Color Horizon

Breaking news from The Janitors camp:
Danish Invasion! We will release a 12” vinyl on legendary Bad Afro Records and we will play the Copenhagen Psych Fest.
With ”Drone Head” The Janitors released one of the most interesting psych albums of 2013. In a time where psych bands seems to pop up everywhere “Drone Head” stood out with it’s dark, fuzzy and sinister vibe. So Bad Afro is happy to announce that The Janitors will be the second installment in our new series of limited 12” EPs and release is set for September 2014 in connection with their appearance at the Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia.
The Janitors from Stockholm have often been compared to early The Jesus and Mary Chain, Spacemen 3 and Loop but they twist and turn their roots into a much more evil and disturbing drone. It’s noisy, monotone and simply brilliant! The Janitors will appear for the first time in Denmark at the Copenhagen Psych Fest taking place April 24-26th at Stengade in Copenhagen. Listen to Do It Again from “Drone Head”.
